Grade 3 tennis players took part in the Inter-school CoolTennis Regional event, held on 22nd, 23rd and 24th of September 2018 in Negombo, and emerged unbeaten champions playing against 22 schools. Overlooking the quadrangle stands a priceless monument that recounts a great era of the College’s history, the German machine gun. This is considered to be one of the first notable war trophies presented by the British Emperor to Ceylon after the First World War, and the first school outside England to be honoured this way.
At the beginning of every year students are selected from grade 2 for tennis. To give equal opportunities, selection is limited to three per class. This forms the basis for the team which represents College at all the tournaments organized by the Sri Lanka Tennis Association, the most important being the All Island Tennis Tournament.
