A distinct hallmark of Trinity College that has enabled it to position itself as a unique, much-sought-after seat of learning throughout its vivid history has been its ability to foresee the emerging changes in the society at large and its versatility to embrace and adapt to those requirements seamlessly by introducing suitable and timely educational, procedural, and structural reforms.    

 In keeping with this Trinity ethos, the newest addition to the College portfolio of intellectual asset gateways that would lead the 21st-Century Higher Education and Professional Reforms for the young Trinitians would be the introduction of the Center For Excellence – CFE, which is tipped to become a hot favourite among students who are seeking to plan their life dreams from a young age. The Center for Excellence is launched under Trinity’s Sesquicentennial Anniversary agenda, with a vision of, “Soaring beyond childhood dreams.”     

 The CFE aspires to create an environment of sharing best practices and opportunities in the academic and corporate spheres, build trust among students and parents to embrace the rapidly emerging higher educational changes with agility. It seeks to provide guidance and direction in exploring individual potential, inculcate the habit of life-long learning driven by a thirst for self-development with the aid of customized personal development plans and instill and drive values that are expected from a socially responsible, empowered citizen of this millennium.     

The CFE will further extend its services towards promoting the commercially viable properties of Trinity College by engaging in marketing and branding initiatives, event planning and management, leveraging on social and digital media activities, developing academically beneficial partnership and relationship management initiatives.      

Overall, the CFE will act as a catalyst of change to transform students who are at the threshold of entering adulthood, from the automated, mechanistic, standardized and qualification seeking education model Sri Lanka is burdened with to a more creative, self-exploratory, curiosity-driven, self-fulfilling form of knowledge-seeking that will help sustain a holistic living experience as adults.
