On 16 January, the annual Road Race was held in preparation for the Trinity College Athletics Meet 2026. The event featured a demanding long-distance run, marked by tension and healthy rivalry among the five Houses, each determined to secure first place.
Through endurance and determination, the athletes maintained a steady pace, giving their best effort in pursuit of victory. At the conclusion of the race, Central Boarding House emerged as overall champions, continuing their consistent performance over the past several years.
The following are the places secured by each of the houses:
- 1st Place – Central Boarding House (CBH)
- 2nd Place – Lemuel House
- 3rd Place – Garret House
- 4th Place – Oorloff House
- 5th Place – Simithraaratchy House
In addition to the overall House results, the top fifteen athletes were recognised for their individual performances.

- 9th Place – S.R. Gunawardena (Central Boarding House)
- 10th Place – H. Naththarampotha (Simithraaratchy House)
- 11th Place – H.A. Mohideen (Garret House)
- 12th Place – S.J. Ranaweera (Central Boarding House)
- 13th Place – R.G.A.H. Thilakarathna (Oorloff House)
- 14th Place – M.A. Riffai (Lemuel House)
- 15th Place – K.P.G. Tharusha Randiv (Lemuel House)
A special note of appreciation is extended to the Principal, Very Rev. Father Araliya Jayasundara (Prior OSB), the Vice Principal Mr Krishanthan Anthonydas, the Co-Vice Principal Mr Ananda Marasinghe, the Director of Sports Mr Gihan Samarasekara, the Sports Coordinator Mr Dammika Kulathunga, the teachers, Senior House Coordinators, TCAF, the coaches, the Police Department of Kandy, and all the athletes who participated.
The Road Race was not only a competitive event but also an experience that brought together the spirit of House loyalty and perseverance within Trinity College, Kandy.
