Environmental Pioneer Brigade

The Environmental Pioneer Brigade, since its inception in 2002, has been at the forefront of nature conservation at Trinity.

We began our crusade 15 years ago with a tree planting programme at Asgiriya and we have been participating in the Annual Perahera Cleaning programme since 2003 for which we were recently credited by His Excellency, Maithripala Sirisena.

The Environment Day programme is organized annually and we were very fortunate to have distinguished personalities such as Mrs. Ajantha Perera and Prof. Sarath Kotagama as resource persons.

We are affiliated to the Central Environmental Authority National EPB Programme and our members have reached up to the Silver Medal level.

We have won several awards most notably placed All Island Runners Up at the “Serein” Young Explorers programme organized by Kandy Girls High School in 2007.

Wildlife Conservation Society

This Society was started as a branch of the Environmental Pioneer Brigade and remains closely affiliated with it. Our projects include excursions to Horton plains in 2014, Udawattekele and Dummadalawa with the objective of observing the natural fauna of Sri Lanka.
