Oriental Music Society

The Oriental Music Society of Trinity was started in 1986 by the former Principal Rev. Dr. W. G. Wikramasinghe to introduce oriental music in to the school curriculum.  Mr. Upul Erdirisinghe was then appointed and remains the Master-in-Charge.

It is now one of Trinity’s most active and successful student bodies.

We organize the Christmas carol service and an alms giving each year, and organize an awurudu celebrations ceremony in April.

Our singing group performs the welcome song for the chief guest of each prize giving held at the school.

Achievements

The society has produced musical shows such as ‘Sadhani’ with the islands recognized singers taking part.

We have won awards in the all island competitions for 15 consecutive years.  We have also won awards in bakthi gee programmes in which every Buddhist schools had participated.
