Bradby Shield Update
This is just to clarify that, contrary to certain reports in the Press and on Social Media, no date has yet been fixed for either Leg of the 2019 Bradby Shield.
Given that the country is still very much in a State of Emergency, it would be neither safe nor responsible to play such a high profile match at the moment. I know that the Royal College Principal agrees with me on this.
Here at Trinity, we are keeping in close and continuous contact with both the Kandy Police and the Armed Forces. They are being extremely helpful and supportive, despite being incredibly busy at the moment. Only when these experts consider it safe to play the Bradby will we do so. As most will already know, the first Leg is due to be played in Kandy this year.
As I said in my previous message, as soon as we are able to announce new dates for the Bradby, the Royal College Principal and I will let everyone know through official Trinity and Royal channels of communication.
Respice Finem!
