Announcement: Letter to Parents

N.B. Circulated ONLY among the parents of Trinity College Kandy

Dear Parents,

Pray this letter finds you in good health. As we have reached the end of 2023, please accept our sincere thanks for the confidence you have placed in our ability to form your children. Please note the following carefully:

  1. Trinity College will reopen for the students on Monday, the 5th of February 2024 for the 1st term of 2024. We have uploaded the full school calendar 2024. Kindly visit the College website for all the details. It is important that the parents are aware of the activities of the College throughout the year.
  2. Considering the current economic constraints, the Board of Governors, with the advice of the Financial Advisory Committee [FAC] has approved a 10% school fee increase with effect from the 1st term 2024. Please refer to the detailed school fee chart that will accompany this letter. Please make note the following regarding students with school fee arrears:
    • Will not be promoted to the higher grade [2024]
    • Ineligible to register for public examinations and school-based exams.
    • Ineligible to represent Trinity College at sports and other co-curricular activities.

We strongly recommend that parents discuss this crucial issue with the school administration to avoid the aforesaid actions. All payment schemes will be periodically reviewed. Kindly note that the school will not make any exception regarding the surcharge on delayed payments.
  1. As a part of our effort to efficiently manage the 2024 budget, we are forced to make significant reductions in recurrent expenditure. Parents will be required to bear certain transport and food expenses, especially at junior age-group sports.
  2. In the year 2024, as a part of the post-T150 Roadmap, we hope to re-articulate the journey of every Trinitian under three critical aspects: academic, skills and character guided by the core values of integrity, service, excellence and resilience. The skills of the 21st century Trinitian will be presented at the Prize Giving 2023.

Whilst thank you for your cooperation and confidence in all our efforts, we need to collaborate further in accompanying our children on the Trinity journey. On behalf of the Board of Governors, College Executive Council, and the staff, I wish you a Merry Christmas and a grace-filled New Year 2024.
