Sometimes, talking to someone
can make all the difference!

Animation Unit

Your space to talk, breathe, and feel better

At Trinity College, we know that mental health is just as important as academics, sports, or anything else. And sometimes, talking to someone can make all the difference.

The Animation Unit is here to support you. We’re a friendly team of trained counselors, staff, and peer mediators who are ready to listen and help. The name “Animation” comes from the idea of bringing life back—feeling better, stronger, and more in control.

A lot of people think counselling is only for serious problems—but that’s not true. Whether you’re stressed, confused, sad, or just need to talk, we’re here. Everyone deserves to be heard, without judgment.

Whatever you’re facing, you’re not alone. Let’s start with a real conversation. #RealConvo

What we offer

We’re involved across all parts of the College and offer different ways to support you!

Personalized life coaching

Sometimes you just need to talk things out. Our coaches are here to guide you through personal challenges, help you make better choices, and support your goals—big or small.

Therapy (creative & theory)

Not all healing comes through talking alone. Whether it’s through conversation, art, journaling, or other creative ways—we’ll help you express what you’re feeling in a way that works for you.

Student Awareness Programmes

We run regular programs to talk about important stuff—mental health, stress, self-esteem, bullying, relationships, and more. These sessions help you learn, grow, and understand yourself and others better.

OBT Sessions

Step outside the classroom! Out Bound Training (OBT) sessions focus on team-building, leadership, self-confidence, and facing challenges through fun outdoor activities and real-world learning.

Academic Assessment

Struggling with schoolwork or exams? We’ll help you manage stress, stay organized, and build better study habits so you can perform at your best without burning out.

Progress Monitoring

We keep track of how you're doing emotionally and academically. It’s not about pressure—it’s about checking in and making sure you're moving in a positive direction.

Life Skills Module

From managing emotions to building confidence, making decisions, and handling peer pressure—these sessions prepare you with practical skills for everyday life.

Parent-Teacher Programmes

We bring parents and teachers into the conversation too. Through special sessions and discussions, we work together to make sure students are supported at home and in school.

Everything we do is meant to help you grow, feel better, and do well—both in school and in life.

Our History

A pivotal step was undertaken in late 2021 towards enhancing student wellbeing through the establishing of a counselling collective under the guidance of Mrs. I. Daskon. This initiative saw the participation of young Trinitians, committed towards fostering emotional intelligence and navigating mental health with the goal of creating a nurturing environment for their fellow peers.

Having a conversation with a person who shares similar experiences as you can go a long way, as such with the assistance of a handful of students the Unit was conducted to encourage, guide and uplift their peers from all grades to give a voice to these young learners.

The Animation Unit saw a renewal under Principal Rev. Fr. Araliya Jayasundara OSB, with the shift into a more officiated staff-based support service drawing a centralized focused towards student welfare and a coverage of all sections within the College.

The Unit now operates under the direction of a dedicated team of mental health academics conducting their duties under standardized ethics and operates to offer students a well-rounded and theoretically-based approach to life coaching and counseling.
