The Japanese Culture Society of Trinity College, Kandy, is set to bring a piece from the culture and life of the well-known group of islands in the North Eastern hemisphere into our lives at Trinity. On the 4th of November 2022, the Japanese culture club will present a “Tenjikai”, or as we would know it, an Exhibition for Japanophiles to display their artistic skills and to advocate the culture and virtues while learning more about an advanced nation in the 21st century.
From the origami, the art of paper folding we have loved since childhood to the popular yet secret between the students; the art of Anime that we now get a bang out of and a lot more exciting happenings, including a Quiz competition on Japanese culture and a display of the Tanabata (star festival) to make your good wishes come true and bad luck to disappear. And then devour your taste buds with food from the flavors of Japan, a colourful Japanese food stall will be there just for you. Join us on a journey exploring Japan’s beautiful and diverse culture at 12:45 pm in the Trinity College Main Hall.
