The Senior Wildlife Club organized their annual excursion on the 8th and 9th of August to Nuwara Eliya. The excursion was planned under the guidance of Mrs Nalini Udayakumaran and members from grade nine to eleven too part.
The trip covered major wildlife destinations in Nuwara Eliya such as Horton Plains and Moon Plains. The Wildlife club travelled the full length of the World’s End trail where they saw famous sites such as the World’s End, Mini-World’s End and Baker’s Fall.
The members spent the night at the Dimbulla Cricket Academy. The main objectives of the trip were to identify the biological and physical geography of Nuwara Eliya. A photography contest was also conducted by the club during this trip.
The members gained a lot of knowledge from this excursion. They also witnessed many creatures such as the sambar deer during the visit to Horton Plains.
The Senior Wildlife Club is an active society of the College. This was one of the many projects on its agenda. The club also plans to organize a wildlife trip for the junior members of the club. It is propelled forward with the intention of embracing wildlife and taking measures to protect it.
