Obierunt – Dr Hiran Kannangara

Trinity College is saddened by the demise of Dr Hiran Kannangara, former Vice Principal. Dr Kannangara was a student at Trinity from 1951 to 1965. He had a special bond with Trinity as he was born and bred on the College premises: he was the son of an iconic and illustrious Teacher and Head Master of Trinity, Mr R L Kannangara.

He graduated from the University of Ceylon (Peradeniya Campus) in 1972 and proceeded to New Zealand for his post graduate studies. He earned a Doctorate from the University of Lincoln, New Zealand in 1983.

He was Vice Principal from 2000 to 2005.

We extend our sympathies to his family. May his soul rest in peace.
