Post completion of the preliminary rounds and semi-finals of HELIOS 22 organized by the Gavel Club of Hillwood College Kandy the finale was set on the 11th of March 2023. Once the dust had settled and the fierce battle between seasoned gavelliers was subdued after a display of stupendous speaking prowess and at the playoffs of the HELIOS Interschool Competition 22 our very own Trinity College Gavelliers with their zealous drive ran the show with finalists Masters Isija Thilakrathne and Yeshan Ranatunga emerging with podium finishes.
Master Isija Thilakarathne clinched the Senior Level Championship and the Most Popular Speaker award while Master Yeshan Ranathunga easily secured a top four amidst formidable competition to pull off a tremendous victory in the name of Trinity College Gavel.
The Final Standings:
Master Isija Thilakarathne – 1st Place in the Senior Grouping and the Most Popular Speaker Award
Master Yeshan Ranatunga – Placed amongst the top 4 speakers.
