Youngest Innovator in the Room – Nahidh Naseem Wins National Title at SLASSCOM Ingenuity Awards 2025

Article by S. Dilrukshan (Web Content Team)

In a remarkable achievement for Trinity’s spirit of innovation, Master Nahidh Naseem was crowned a National Winner at the Sri Lanka Association of Software and Service Companies (SLASSCOM) Ingenuity Awards 2025, securing the Most Innovative Product Award under the School Category.

Widely recognised as the country’s leading platform for celebrating technology and creativity, the SLASSCOM Ingenuity Awards spotlight the most promising minds from business, academia, and startups. This year, amidst an especially competitive field, Nahidh stood out as the only school student in the country to receive a national-level award — a truly exceptional feat.

Nahidh’s project, evaluated through a rigorous, multi-stage selection process, was chosen for its originality, scalability, and practical relevance. Not only did it earn high praise from the judging panel, but it also redefined expectations for what school-level innovation can achieve.

Further amplifying the honour, Nahidh has been selected to represent Sri Lanka at the upcoming World Summit for Ingenuity & Innovation. His selection is a proud testament to the world-class potential of young Sri Lankan innovators and marks a historic milestone for Trinity College and Sri Lanka’s student innovation landscape.

The SLASSCOM Ingenuity Awards celebrate innovation across diverse domains—from enterprise solutions and educational technology to sustainability and artificial intelligence. With his achievement, Nahidh has proven a powerful point: age is no barrier to impact. His recognition challenges traditional norms, showing that school students too can lead innovation on both national and international stages.

For Trinity College, this moment represents more than individual success—it reflects the institution’s enduring commitment to fostering creativity, innovation, and excellence among young Trinitians. As Nahidh steps onto the global stage, he carries with him not only the pride of his college, but also the promise of Sri Lanka’s future in technology.
