The long-standing tradition of the Trinity College Triathlon was revived on Saturday, 27 September 2025, marking its return to the College sporting calendar after more than two decades. Organised by the CrossFit Club under the guidance of the College administration, the event commenced at 8.00 a.m., testing the participants’ physical and mental endurance.
The Triathlon has long been regarded as a significant event that challenges athletes across multiple disciplines. Its reintroduction was an effort to rekindle the spirit of all-round athleticism that forms an integral part of Trinity’s sporting heritage. The CrossFit Club led this revival, encouraging student competitors to demonstrate strength, stamina, and perseverance.
The course began with a 66-metre swim in the Trinity College Swimming Pool, followed by a 2 km run. Participants then completed a 4 km cycling segment along the Udawattakele route before returning to the Junior School Grounds.
The 2025 Triathlon broadened its competitive scope beyond the College grounds, drawing participation from several Kandy schools and welcoming the enthusiastic involvement of old boys.
