The Junior School IT Club (IT GENIUS) organized the first ever Junior School IT Day at Trinity College, on 6th of June 2018 at the Junior School Hall. The event was conducted by the IT Teachers under the supervision and guidance of the Co-Vice Principal Mr. A.S. Marasinghe.
The chief guest was Dr. Asitha Bandaranayake, Senior Lecturer and Director of Internet and Communication Service Unit,
University of Peradeniya. The occasion was graced by the Principal, Chaplain, IT Director and the staff of the Junior School.
The enthusiastic members of the Junior School IT Club performed various activities on the stage:
- a drama about computer virus infection
- a song on the parts of a computer
- speeches on the history of computing
- a debate on the positive and negative aspects of Facebook use by the Junior School debating team
- presentations by E-wis on 3d printing and Dr. Asitha Badaranayake on the future for children learning IT
The winners of the IT competition were awarded certificates and gifts.
