Gymnastics is a popular and recognised sport all over the world and we are happy that the administration of Trinity College decided to introduce gymnastics for Kindergarten students as an extra-curricular activity. Kindergarten gymnastics sessions are held under the guidance of a renowned and a qualified coach, Mr Lakwin Ranasinghe. He has been crowned as a National Champion and a Level One Gymnastic Coach. The KG sessions started in June 2016, so now it has been two years since we introduced this sport for the little boys. In 2018, gymnastic sessions for term 1 started on the 24th of January. From the extra-curricular selection process, there were 5 students who had selected gymnastics as their activity. And, from the very beginning these students had the chance to learn and absorb the sport in an enjoyable way, and day-by-day we were able to see extraordinary improvement in the students. With the commencement of the third term we are proud to say that the little boys showed a keen interest in this sport. At each session they were taught new techniques and we were able get an understanding of their full their potential On the 1st of December 2018, for the first time, our students had the opportunity of taking the Gymnastic Level 1 and Level 2 Tests, conducted by the Sri Lanka National Gymnastic Association. And, we are proud to mention that all the five students were selected for the Level 3 exam with high scores. We sincerely convey our gratitude to the parents for the immense support given to us during this process. We conclude the year with the hope of introducing and nurturing more talented students in to this sport in year 2019. Report by Miss K.B.V.K.G. Wijesundera
