Kindergarten handcrafts exhibition

An exhibition of handwork from Kindergarten students (Grade 1 and 2) was held on 1st August, with Chief Guest Ms Chandra Algama.

The highlight of the opening ceremony was a Kandyan dance performed by the KG students.  In his speech, the Principal Mr Andrew Fowler-Watt mentioned the importance of nurturing creativity in students: both traditional, in the objects and paintings made by the students, and modern, using the smartboards the parents will see in all the KG classrooms. He especially thanked the KG teachers for all their hard work in guiding and helping the students to prepare for the event.

After the opening ceremony, the parents accompanied their sons and visited the KG classrooms, each with a variety of handcraft displays.

The opening was attended by the Principal and Mrs Fowler-Watt, Vice Principal Mr John Wilson, Co-Vice Principal Mr Ananda Marasinghe, and Chaplain Sanath Madagamgoda.
