On the 3rd of October 2018, a Children’s Day programme was organized for the students of the Middle School. The event started at 7.30 a.m. and finished by 9.30 a.m.
The programme included a variety of entertainment items:
First, the event was brought into a musical beginning with a group of boys from the Western Music Society performing “Heal the World” by Micheal Jackson.
Next, a speech was given by a Middle School staff member, Mr Wasana Dissanayake based on the theme “Children are not to be moulded but a gift to be unfolded and how hard it is to repair broken men but easier to make stronger children.”
Afterwards, the Oriental Music Society performed an item with both music and orchestral entertainment.
Following this, the Media Unit presented a short video clip referring to all the children in the world.
The Trinity College Literary Association (TCLA) performed an extract from “Taming of the Shrew” by William Shakespeare.
At the end of the event, the gifts prepared by the staff were handed over to the individuals representing each class.
The Children’s Day celebration was certainly noted as a great gesture of appreciating the talent and work of the boys at Trinity while thanking them for their contribution to the society as young children.
We wish everyone a “Happy Children’s Day 2018!”
