On Saturday the 8th of June, 2019 the Kandy Zonal qualifiers for the Sri Lanka All Island Scrabble tournament took place at Trinity College, Kandy.
The participants were in the age groups 13 and 18, and from each category 7 players qualified for the finals.
Even though it was the Kandy qualifiers there were participants from Galle and Kurunegala as well. There were also students from Gateway College, Kandy and Girls’ High School.
We had 18 students from Trinity taking part in this tournament, and Master M. A. Zaffarullah qualified for the finals, which is to be held in Colombo.
The tournament was held on an individual basis under the supervision of the Sri Lanka Scrabble League.
