Grade 2 Weekly Newsletter – Issue 12

Flower and leaf art activity is a creative and fun way for kindergarteners to learn about nature and express themselves artistically. All you need are some leaves and flowers (which you can collect from your garden or a nearby park), some scissors, glue, paper, and other optional materials (such as plastic eyes, twigs, pinecones, or glitter). Let the children experiment with their own ideas. The possibilities are endless!

With every new texture, sensation, and item they discover, children are building an understanding of the world around them. That’s great for their development because it helps them form neural connections in their brains, which enables them to learn even more.

Flower and leaf art has been used for centuries in many different cultures, and today it is still a popular way to create stunning and unique pieces of art. It is a fun and creative way to enjoy the outdoors while creating something beautiful.

In this Issue

Students experimented with flowers & leaves they had collected over the weekend for this week’s Hand Work session.

Though animals & birds seemed to be the popular choice, some tried their hands at turning out beautiful scenery using flowers & leaves.

This is a weekly project done by the Kindergarten Teachers and Students in collaboration with the Upper School Design Club
