The Junior National Table Tennis Tournament was held from 25th to 27th November at the Bandaragama Indoor Stadium. Both, U15 and U17 age categories competed at this event.
Within the most fiercely competed U17 category, Master Shafiullah Akram showcased his unmatched performance clinching the championship title and securing a commendable 3rd place in the Under 15 category, highlighting his exceptional individual talent but also contributing to the overall success of his team.
One the most remarkable segment of the tournament is when Shafiullah Akram claimed the mixed double championship partnering up with Bimandi Bandara of Hillwood College Kandy.
The unwavering success of Shafiullah Akram and his teammates portrayed a positive development of progress when compared to previous years. Each and every player demonstrated exceptional skills, promising a better future to the team as a whole.
As the three-day tournament came to a conclusion, the spectators were indeed astonished by the strengths and strong points displayed by the young aspiring table tennis players. Our heartiest congratulations and warm wishes are expressed to Master. Shafiullah Akram to achieve greater heights in his career as a Trinitian and as a Sri Lankan.
