Hard work, dedication and great skill paved the way for the Hockey team of Trinity College Kandy to be crowned as the much-celebrated Joint Champions at the All Island U18 Hockey Championship 2024.
Consistent and remarkable performances through the span of the tournament, placed Trinity in the finals.
The team battled against Joseph Vaz, Wennapuwa who started off with 2 superb goals to lead 2-0 at half time. However, the determined Trinitians maintained their spirit despite the initial setback.
In the second half of this tense encounter, the Trinitians displayed a resurgent comeback to make the score equal: 2-2. Unfortunately, with bad light not permitting additional time, both teams were announced joint champions.
For TCK, this shared Championship was not merely a title, but a celebration of their unity, working as a team and always keeping their confidence up.
Individually, Master. Mohamed Arkam was awarded the player of the tournament with an astonishing 17 goals across 8 matches.
