A team of five Commerce students from Trinity College Kandy took part in Quizzical 2025, an inter-school quiz competition organized by NSBM Green University, held on 21st May 2025 at the university premises.
The event featured nine schools from across the country and consisted of multiple rounds that tested a variety of skills, including general knowledge, business awareness, and teamwork.
The opening round was conducted on Kahoot!—a fast-paced online platform—where participants were quizzed on topics such as economics, marketing, and current affairs. The Trinity team performed well, progressing to the second round.
The second round focused on practical team challenges, including problem-solving games and coordination tasks. Trinity’s students worked together effectively and qualified for the third stage.
The third round tested the participants’ ability to recognise logos of well-known companies and brands. Trinity again performed well and advanced to the final round alongside two other schools.
The final round was a two-part quiz segment: a buzzer-based round requiring quick responses, and an analytical round assessing deeper understanding of commerce-related topics. Trinity’s team remained consistent in their performance, ultimately securing 3rd place overall.
The team represented the Commerce Society and the school with commitment and teamwork throughout the event. Special thanks go to Mrs. Rashini Liyanage, who accompanied and supported the team during the competition.

This event was part of the ongoing efforts of the Commerce Society of Trinity College to create fun, practical learning experiences outside the classroom. From quizzes to workshops, the Society helps students stay curious, think critically, and build lasting friendships—all while exploring the world of business and economics in a hands-on way.
