Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we approach the conclusion of another academic year, I extend my sincere gratitude for your unwavering support and understanding throughout 2025. Your partnership with the College has been invaluable in nurturing our students’ growth and development.
Vacation and Term Arrangements
The College will close for the Christmas vacation on 19th December 2025 and reopen on 5th January 2026.
Please note the following special arrangements:
- Upper School (Grades 10-13) and Middle School (Grades 6-9) will temporarily close from 12th – 20th January 2026 to facilitate the Advance Level examination period
- These sections will resume on 21st January 2026
- Junior School and TCK International Qualification will function as usual during this period
For all school activities and events, please refer to the Year Plan 2026 available on www.trinitycollege.lk/calendar
TCK International Qualification – Temporary Relocation
Due to ongoing renovations of the current building, the Trinity College International Qualification Section (TCK IQ) will be temporarily relocated to Kelvin Grove. We regret any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding as we work to enhance our facilities.
A Call to the Trinity Community
It is with deep concern that I address the recent disciplinary incident involving Grade 10 students and the subsequent physical assault by some senior students. These deplorable acts of disrespect, vandalism, and violence have caused immeasurable damage to the reputation of Trinity College. Whilst we unequivocally condemn such behaviour, I must emphasize that the school can only nurture what the family has planted. The fundamental value base must be established at home. I earnestly appeal to all parents to engage actively in instilling discipline, respect, and moral values in our children. The College will undertake all necessary measures to prevent such incidents.
MOBILE DEVICE PROHIBITION – EFFECTIVE JANUARY 2026
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Trinity College will implement a total prohibition of all mobile devices within school premises from January 2026. This policy applies students, staff & visitors.
Key points:
- Staff may use mobile devices within staffrooms only
- Any mobile device found with a student will be confiscated and returned to parents after one year
- Parents are strictly requested not to allow students to bring mobile devices to school. The College will provide adequate emergency calling facilities
We seek your full cooperation in implementing this measure, which aims to minimize distractions and promote focused learning.
School Fees
We kindly request the timely settlement of school fees. Please note a 15% increase effective from the new term, necessitated by statutory salary increases for staff (April 2025 and January 2026). Please find below the updated fee card for your reference.
A MOMENT OF REFLECTION
As we close this year, our hearts go out to all those affected by the recent floods in Sri Lanka. These challenging times remind us of the importance of empathy, compassion, and community support. I encourage all Trinity families to extend help wherever possible to those in need.
Additionally, I urge parents to maintain regular supervision of their children, especially during the vacation period. Open communication and attentive guidance are essential in helping our young people navigate the complexities of modern life.
As we celebrate the birth of our Lord, may this Christmas season bring peace, joy, and renewed faith to your families. I wish you a grace-filled Christmas and precious time together as families. The Trinity College community looks forward to welcoming all students back for a productive and successful 2026. With blessings and best wishes,
Rev. Fr. Araliya Jayasundara OSB
Principal
