Trinity College Kandy Inaugurates the N.B.H. Pilapitiya Endowment Fund

Trinity College Kandy is honored to announce the establishment of the N.B.H. Pilapitiya Endowment Fund, generously donated by Mrs. Nirmalene Seneviratne Pilapitiya in loving memory of her late husband, Mr. Navarathne Bandara Herath Pilapitiya (Trinity ’63).

This transformative Rs. 15 million endowment will support the Trinity College Co-Curricular Enrichment Initiative (TCCEI), empowering students to develop essential 21st-century skills through enhanced co-curricular activities in leadership, innovation, creativity, and holistic wellbeing.

The fund reflects the Pilapitiya family’s deep commitment to Trinity’s core values of Integrity, Service, Excellence, and Resilience, ensuring future generations of Trinitians continue to thrive both inside and outside the classroom. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mrs. Pilapitiya for this remarkable legacy of service to Trinity College. A special note of thanks to Old Boys of the Batch of 1985, Mr. Manik Swaminathan and Mr. Patrick Vanderpootan.

At the National Youth & Junior Weightlifting Championships 2025 held at Vijaya College, Matale (26–28 December), Trinity College emerged as Youth Runners-Up, marking yet another milestone in our sporting journey. Special congratulations to Master Yasan Kavsidu, who set two new Youth National Records and secured 1st Place in the Youth 79kg category.
