Culinary and Hospitality Club Holds 4th Annual General Meeting

The 4th consecutive Annual General Meeting of the Culinary and Hospitality Club was held on 11 February 2026 at the Lakshman Kadirgamar Auditorium. The occasion marked the close of a productive year for the Club and brought together both senior and new members in a spirit of reflection and renewal. 

The meeting began with the reading of the minutes from the previous Annual General Meeting by the outgoing Secretary, Abdul Rahman, who reflected on the past year and extended his best wishes to future members. A presentation followed, outlining key events such as the Annual Introductory Hospitality Programme at the Mahaweli Reach Hotel, the Inter-house Culinary Competition, and a series of culinary and hospitality demonstrations conducted during the year. Recognition was also given to members who took part in the All-Island Inter-school Tourism Day Competitions, where several students received awards. 

Mrs. Indika Hettiarachchi, Teacher-in-Charge of the Culinary and Hospitality Club, then addressed the gathering. She spoke about the direction of the Club and its role within Trinity College, Kandy, while encouraging members to take part in All-Island competitions in the coming year. 

The outgoing President, Menath Kahapola, announced the committee for 2026: 

  • President: Sanula Chandrasekara 
  • Vice President: Navidu Karunarathn 
  • Secretary: Asama Ranwala 
  • Assistant Secretary: Mayuradan Kankesh 
  • Assistant Treasurer: Themiya Wanigarathne 
  • Web Coordinator: Roshin Karthik 

Welfare Officers: 

  • Gaurawa Kulathunge 
  • Sanuka Illangasekara 
  • Eshan Marasinghe 
  • Thivaharan Humrushan 
  • Risindu Nikahatiya 
  • Kanishkar Mrishnakumar 
  • Sajana Halangoda 
  • Navin Krishoke 

The newly appointed President addressed the members, expressing his commitment to continuing the work of the Club. 

Representatives for Grades 6 to 9 were then appointed, followed by a vote of thanks delivered by the Secretary, bringing the Club’s 2025 activities to a close. The meeting concluded with refreshments prepared by the outgoing President and his committee.
