Trinity College, Kandy welcomed the young Trinitians joining Grade 1 in 2026 on 21 January 2026, marking the beginning of their journey at the College.
The day’s proceedings began with an Entrants’ Service held at the College Chapel, the first formal event in the life of every Trinitian. This service marked the students’ official entry into the Trinity community and reflected the values and traditions of the College.
Following the service, all students were welcomed at the Junior School premises, where they were introduced to their new school environment. The Junior School students and staff supported the new entrants as they familiarised themselves with their surroundings and routines.
The proceedings continued at Junior School, where the Grade 2 students presented a welcome song and dance. This marked the formal introduction of the new students to the Junior School community. A total of 192 students, together with their parents, were received into the Trinity community during the event.
Guided by the College motto, ‘Respice Finem’ (Look to the End), students are encouraged from the early years to approach their schooling with focus, consistency, and responsibility. Emphasis is placed on developing sound learning habits, character, and respect for others.
The first two years at Trinity College focus on academic learning, skill development, and character formation. During this period, strong foundations are established within a structured classroom environment. With the guidance of dedicated teachers, each child is supported in progressing steadily and developing his individual strengths.
Trinity College, Kandy extends its best wishes to the young Trinitians joining Grade 1 in 2026 as they begin their schooling. Over the next fourteen years, the College will support them through each stage of their education, guiding them in academic learning, character development, and responsibility, as they grow into Trinitians by make, and not merely by name.
