Dear Parents and Guardians,
I write to bring to your attention a number of disciplinary concerns that have recently come to light. A minority of students have been found engaging in misconduct, including the forcible extortion of money from their fellow students – a serious offence that will be dealt with severely and, where necessary, referred to civil authorities.
In this regard, I respectfully request that you: (i) actively monitor your son’s social media accounts and mobile device usage; (ii) be attentive to how he utilises his finances and account for any unexplained funds in his possession or requests; (iii) constantly monitor your son’s social networks.
Parents are also reminded that the College seeks financial contributions from parents on rare occasions only. Any such request will always be accompanied by an official letter bearing my signature. Please do not honour any verbal or informal requests for money purportedly made on behalf of the College.
I also invite you to review the following College policies available on our website:
• Policy on Unlawful Gathering of Students and Unauthorized Formation of Student Groups or Guilds
• Student Discipline — Trinity College Kandy
Your partnership in these matters is greatly valued. Together, we can ensure Trinity College remains a safe and nurturing environment for all our students.
Yours Sincerely,
Rev. Fr. Araliya Jayasundara OSB
The Principal
Trinity College, Kandy
