The Trinity College Aviation Society organised an Aviation Awareness Programme themed “AVIATE” on 29th June 2018 at the Main Hall. The event was organised to help students who hope to pursue careers in the aviation industry.
The programme was mainly focused on the O/L students from the Upper School and conducted by four lecturers from the Asian Aviation Center (AAC), Colombo:
C.G.I/A.F.I – Mr. Lakshith Abewardhena
Senior Lecturer – Mr. Ruwan Perera
A.G.I – Mr. Madusha Mendis
Head of Marketing – Mr. Sheron Liyanarachchi
The event included many lectures and presentations on subjects such as air traffic control, piloting and aircraft engineering. It should be mentioned that the attending students were most fascinated by the presentation on piloting.
The Aviation Society of Trinity College received wonderful comments from the students and the staff about the event. ‘AVIATE’ was a great opportunity for aviation enthusiasts at Trinity to gain practical and theoretical knowledge in aviation.
The Aviation Society hopes to organise many events of such interest in the future, the objective of the Society is to improve students awareness and knowledge of the aviation industry, one of the fastest growing employment sectors.
