Project Rekindle. – Renovation & Donations to a Preschool

The Interact Clubs of Trinity College Kandy, Royal Institute and Hillwood College Kandy are hoping to assist in the renovation of the preschool ‘Hela Daru Pera Pasala’ in Monaragala.

In its current condition, with an unstable building surrounded by a fence made of barbed wire, it is not a safe environment for children to learn. Through our project, we hope to raise the standards of the preschool to an acceptable level.

The work commenced on the 25th of February 2021 by laying the foundation stone at 6.25am by Mrs. Irangani, the Head teacher of the Pre School. Within 4 days, they were able to complete the foundation of the proposed preschool with the support of the parents of the present students.

The project chairperson from Trinity College, with Mr. Wasantha Herath visited the site after completion of the foundation. Where we were able to meet the students, the Head Teacher, and Parents. We were also able to donate some toys to the pre-school bringing smiles on to the faces of the little kids. We would like to thank our doners Mr. Iranga Dunuwilla and the second doner who wishes to be anonymous for thier contribution
