Master Nahidh Naseem was selected as a finalist in the SLIoT Challenge 2025, an Internet of Things (IoT) competition organised by the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at the University of Moratuwa. The event was held in collaboration with SLT-MOBITEL and the Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka (IESL). The grand finale took place on 27 April 2025 at the University of Moratuwa, showcasing innovative IoT solutions from across the nation.
For the competition, Nahidh developed an advanced AI-powered flight control system designed to enhance the precision and responsiveness of aerial vehicles. The system integrates real-time data processing with autonomous control algorithms, enabling dynamic flight adjustments and improved stability. The project aimed to contribute to the evolving field of unmanned aerial systems, with potential applications in various sectors including defence, surveillance, and logistics.
Participating in the SLIoT Challenge provided exposure to current technologies and offered a platform to engage with other innovators. The experience honed his technical skills and deepened his understanding of the practical applications of IoT in complex systems.
Being a finalist in the competition served as a significant milestone in Nahidh’s academic journey, reinforcing his commitment to pursuing excellence in technology and innovation. He extended his gratitude to the organisers, mentors, and fellow participants for their support throughout the process.
