The Trinity College Model United Nations (TCMUN) club in collaboration with the Executive Committee of Sri Lanka Model United Nations organized the second ever Hill Country Model United Nations Conference on the 28th of July 2018. The event was held in the College Main Hall and included the following committees:
- The Third General Assembly (GA3)
- United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP)
- United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC)
Committees were chaired by members of the Executive Committee of Sri Lanka Model United Nations. The event was attended by delegations from:
- Kingswood College, Kandy
- Zahira College, Gampola
- Gateway College, Kandy
- Royal Institute, Kurunegala
The following students participated from the Trinity College Model United Nations club:
- Pavara Rambukwella representing Venezuela in GA3
- Dulina Herath representing Brazil in GA3
- Gesith Epa representing Madagascar in GA3
- Sadesh Rajapakse representing the United States of America in GA3
- Gyan Dissanaike representing Yemen in UNEP
- Yoosuf Zuhry representing Venezuela in UNEP
- Yadesh Mohanadas representing Rwanda in UNHRC
- Lukman Hassan representing the Republic of Korea in UNHRC
Master H.S. Lukman Hassan won Higher Commendation in the UNHRC committee.
The executive committee of the Trinity College Model United Nations Club thanks the master-in-charge Mr. Raveendran, chief organizer master Malaka Samarasinghe as well the Sri Lanka Model United Nations Executive Committee for their support in the successful conclusion of the event.
