G.C.E. Advanced LEVEL - UPPER SCHOOL

The students who obtain the required qualification at the G. C. E. Ordinary Level Examination, eventually move into the Advanced Level Section by selecting a preferred course of studies. Students who enter the G. C. E. Advanced Level Programme of Studies spent eight terms at school enhancing their skills and knowledge by taking part in the formal and informal teaching – learning processes which include classroom teaching, laboratory practical sessions, seminars, and guided learning sessions.   

Currently Trinity College, Kandy, offers the following courses of studies classified under two major sections – Arts & Commerce Department, and Science Department. At present the Arts and Commerce Department is led by Mr. Kanchana Galagoda and the Science Section is headed by Mrs. Nalika Gunaratne with the able assistance provided by Mr. Chamith Kumara and Mrs. Malmi Karagaswewa, respectively.  

Arts & Commerce Department  

  1. Arts (Economics, Geography, Political Science, Logic, Media Studies, French, GRC, English Literature, Information & Communication Technology)   
  2. Commerce (Economics, Accountancy/ Information & Communication Technology, Business Studies/ Information & Communication Technology)   

Science Department  

  1. Biological Science (Biology, Physics and Chemistry)  
  2. Physical Science (Combined Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry or Information & Communication Technology)  
  3. Technological Science (Science for Technology, Bio System Technology/ Engineering Technology, and Information & Communication Technology/ Agriculture)  

Since the Advanced Level Programme of Studies marks the culmination of the academic life of Trinitians at School, they are encouraged to give back to the Best School of All and their fellow Trinitians the fruits of their twelve years of labour by way of their involvement in the host of co-curricular and sporting activities which provide a unique identity to the informal academic life of students at Trinity College, Kandy.
