We are pleased to announce the appointment of the following students who will take leadership of the Athletics Team for the year 2023.

Umar Manzil
Umar started his athletics journey in 2014. In 2018 , He set the record for 300m hurdle at the School Sports meet which is still not broken till this date. At the District Meet he was the leader of the Junior Team (Junior Champions) and became the U15 Champion Athlete.
Umar placed 4th place in 4x400m at the Senior John Tarbat All Island Meet 2022. At the National Meet 2022 he was placed 2nd in 4x400m. He has received more accolades such as National School Games Colours and Central Province School Colours.
Sawan Aluwihare
Sawan was placed U18 1st in the Inter House Road Race in the year 2020. He became the Champion Athlete in the year 2022 and placed 2nd in Inter House Road Race in the same year. At the Zonal Sports meet 2022 (under 20) the team placed 2nd in both 4x400m relay and 4x100m relay. The 4x400m relay team placed 2nd in the Ministry of Education All Island School games (under 20)
He has received more accolades such as All Island School Games Athletics Colours and Central Province Sports Section Colours (2022).
Thidas Bandaranayake
Thidas started his athletics journey in 2016. He has placed in put shot ,discus and javelin throw at the Inter House Track and Field events starting from U14 consecutively until U20. Became the Vice games captain of Oorloff House in year 2022.
Placed and participated in zonal, district, provincial ,John Tarbet meets and all island school games consecutively since U15 (Events – Put shot ,Discus throw and Javelin throw ).
