Since its inception in the year 1978 on the 30th of September, the Interact Club of Trinity College Kandy has been one of the most active clubs at the College. Bringing together the principles of humanitarian service, the Interact Club is a nonprofit oriented organization established to serve the society we live in through the avenues of community service, club service, international understanding, green life and finance.
The Interact Club of Trinity College Kandy, affiliated with the Rotary Club of Kandy, is also the first of its kind in the hill country. During its formative years Capt. Leonard De Alwis was in charge and the Club’s first inaugural meeting was held on the 7th of August 1978. The first project performed was uplifting sports facilities of Mahaweli Vidyalaya, Polgolla.
The members of the Club conduct a variety of projects annually from donation drives to Awareness campaigns and many exciting events, based on its core principles and with the prime objective of driving forward the passion to serve mankind through the avenues of Community Service, Club Service, Finance, International Understanding and Green Life.
