The School Officers’ Guild of Trinity College, Kandy was a part of the Leadership Development programme organized by the Asia Pacific Institute for Information Technology in partnership with the Kandy Schools Past Pupils’ Association. The program was held on the 3rd of November at the Oak Ray Hotel, Kandy.
The Guild was one of sixteen from Kandy schools invited to the event. The focus of the event was on developing the soft skills and knowledge required for the students to improve their leadership skills. The programme included several lectures on career guidance and education, a brief introduction to interview etiquette, and the dangers of modern drugs.
The event ended in the evening with a talent show prepared by all the schools present. Each item gave a valuable moral or social lesson. The College took part with a short drama and a freestyle music piece, rounding off their continuous participation in the programme throughout the day.
All the Officers and Prefects present gained a host of valuable skills, which they will undoubtedly use in conducting their duties.
