It was quite an emotional day for the staff and boys of Junior School and Kindergarten on the morning of 29th January 2020, as they had to bid farewell to the Principal, Mr Andrew Fowler-Watt and Mrs Vivienne Fowler-Watt at a special assembly.
Mr and Mrs Fowler-Watt were welcomed at the Junior School staff room which was followed with an address by the Headmaster Mr Marasinghe. Miss W.R. De. Silva (Head of Grade 1) spoke few words on behalf of the Junior school staff. They also presented a token to Mr and Mrs Fowler-Watt.
Afterwards, the Junior School band escorted Mr and Mrs Fowler-Watt to the hall. They were given a Grand Yell by the Cub Scouts near the Centenary building.
The assembly commenced with an address by Mr Marasinghe. Master Muhammed Jameel spoke on behalf of the students and presented a bouquet of flowers to Mrs Fowler-Watt. Then four boys representing grades 2,3,4 and 5 presented their tokens of appreciation to the Principal.
The Principal then addressed the gathering, which was followed by the School Song and the National Anthem concluding the assembly.
