The Junior National Badminton Championship 2022 (Kandy Zone) was held from 12th of December to 21st of December at the St. Anthony’s Indoor Stadium and Municipal Indoor Stadium, Kandy. More than 10 schools from the Kandy zone participated during this tournament. The results as follows:
Under 13 – Boys Doubles

Under 15 – Boys Singles
Champion: Samiru Ranasinghe
Runner up: Pawan Dissanayake
Under 15 – Boys Doubles
Champions: Samiru Ranasinghe and Pawan Dissanayake
Under 17 – Boys Singles
Champion: Thenula Rathnayaka
Under 17 – Boys Doubles
Thenula Rathnayaka played alongside a player from Dharmaraja College, Kandy and became runners up.
Under 19
Mahen Wijesundara was selected for National Games without playing in this tournament due to his previous stellar performances. Currently he is ranked All Island number one.
