The inaugural session organized by the Model UN club of Mahamaya Girls College, Kandy commenced on the 25th and the 26th of February and was held in immaculate fashion, attracting schools from across the island to the Hill Country for two days of intense debate as well as progressive resolution writing.
The Trinity College Model United Nations Club showcased an impressive performance, with its delegates dominating all 6 committees of the conference. TCMUN was not only able to secure the most awards in the conference, but also set a new club record for the highest number of awards at a single conference in its history.
The six award winners were,
● Sanchitha Wickrama – Best Delegate (GA1)
● Shaluka Herath – Higher Commendation (GA1)
● Vinidu Perera – Higher Commendation (UNW)
● Toshan Madugalle – Higher Commendation (UNEP)
● Raihan Rizvie – Honorary Mention (ECOSOC)
● Abeesha Wickramasinghe – Honorary Mention (FIA)
Current and past members of TCMUN also made an appearance at the conference as Chairs, leading and guiding committee proceedings over the course of two days.

The event was a success story for both MUN in Kandy and TCMUN, as the Trinitians brought glory to their Alma Mater and set new heights for the future of the club. This was not only a great experience for all the award winners but also for the youngsters of the club.
To conclude, Trinity College Model United Nations will continue to prosper and achieve greater feats in the conferences to come.
