Aamir Akram – first ever Interact District Representative elect from Trinity for District 3220

Our congratulations to Master Aamir Akram, who was recently appointed as the first ever Interact District Representative elect from Trinity to represent all interact clubs in Sri Lanka and Maldives. Aamir received this appointment at the Interact District Conference held on 19th of March 2023, at the Temple Trees, Colombo. The event was graced by the President, Hon. Ranil Wickremesinghe and was attended by an audience of 800 members from Rotary and Interact movements around the country.

The appointment is a testament to the hard work and dedication of Aamir, who has been an active member of the Interact Club of Trinity College Kandy for half a decade and is currently in his 6th year as president of the club.

Int. Aamir will be the second DIR to represent the district of 3220 (Sri Lanka and Maldives) as an interactor who is not inclusive of the Colombo zone. Second to the appointment of past DIR Dimuthu Samarasinghe back in the year 1982.

The selection process for the Interact District Representative is highly competitive, with students from all over the country vying for the position. Int.Aamir Akram had to go through a rigorous selection process, which included a written examination, an interview, and a presentation of a manifesto to a panel of judges being Rotarians.

During his manifesto presentation to all the interactors in the district of 3220, Int. Aamir Akram talked about his vision for the Interact Movement and his plans for the future. He emphasized the importance of community service and how the movement can help make a positive impact to the country we live in today.

His passion and dedication was evident as he was selected as the Interact District Representative elect To represent more than 85 active interact clubs in Sri Lanka and Maldives with a membership count of over 10,000 members.

The news of Int. Aamir Akram’s appointment has been met with widespread excitement and congratulations from the interact community. Many people have praised him for his hard work and dedication. His appointment is seen as a source of inspiration for other young interactors at Trinity.

Int. Aamir’s appointment is a proud moment for Trinity, and it is a reminder of the power of hard work, dedication, and passion. We wish him all the very best in his new role as the Interact District Representative elect and look forward to seeing the positive impact he will make on the community.
