On the 2nd of October, the students of Trinity College were treated to a musical extravaganza by their teachers. Followed by meaningful themes, aimed at making the children aware of how they can make the world a better place to live in, the teachers entertained the students to a toe tapping, four-hour, lively performance.
This was particularly a busy day for the whole school, with everyone involved in celebratory activities, filled with exciting and noteworthy events.
The aim of the teachers was to make this Children’s Day unforgettable yet purposeful. They entertained students from grades 1 to 13 with mesmerizing songs under the emotive theme ‘The land belongs to you.’
In this regard, the major objective was to provide songs that we can learn from, songs that promote peace and harmony. They were not only pleasant and educational, but fun, as evidenced by the thunderous applause that followed each entrance. It’s also worth mentioning that the teachers added variety by having multilingual songs further, reinforcing the objectives promoting peace and harmony.
After spending hours of consistent practice throughout the weekend and during all their free time, the teachers delivered. The students were captivated. This performance was truly an example of the unconditional care teachers have for us and how we will always be indebted to them.
However, the celebrations were far from over, with students returning to classes having successfully organized talent shows, class parties, and games within their happy space: the classroom.
Before too long, the much-anticipated inter-class Tap Rugby tournament organised by the School Officers’ Guild kicked off. The tournament proved to be thrilling, intense, and competitive, with a significant participation and well organised matches.
Throughout all this action, the Culinary Club offered tasty delicacies in the quadrangle premises, and it’s undeniable that everyone, from students to teachers, enjoyed their delectable preparations.
Undoubtedly, Children’s Day is a pivotal event of the year. The new initiative to make this year’s Children’s Day was undeniably a resounding success, both educational and enjoyable.
The happiness experienced by students was unprecedented, and therefore, we would like to thank The Principal, Rev. Fr. Araliya Jayasundara OSB, The Vice Principal, Mr. Krishanthan Antonydas, The teachers, The School Officers Guild, the Culinary Club, Support Staff, and the PROMWEB team for their guidance.
