The Student Christian Movement (SCM) Sunday Service was held on Sunday, 19 July 2026, at 4.00 p.m. in the Trinity College Chapel. It brought together students, teachers, parents, old boys and members of the congregation for an evening of worship, reflection and fellowship. The strong attendance reflected the commitment of the Trinity community to gather in faith as one body in Christ.
The service began in an atmosphere of reverence and thanksgiving as the congregation united in prayer, worship and praise. The wholehearted participation of those present created a meaningful occasion that strengthened the bonds of faith within the College community.
One of the highlights was the enthusiastic involvement of boys from every age group. They undertook the Scripture readings, led the intercessory prayers, assisted with the offertory, sang in the choir and fulfilled many other responsibilities. The participation of the younger students was especially encouraging, reflecting the SCM’s commitment to nurturing faith, leadership and Christian service among the next generation.
The sermon focused on the theme of patience, emphasising the importance of cultivating a steadfast spirit in daily life. The congregation was encouraged to practise patience in relationships with family, friends, teachers and others by following the example of Christ. The message reminded everyone that patience is a fruit of the Holy Spirit and that, through faith and trust in God, we are strengthened to face challenges with grace, compassion and perseverance.
The Junior School and Middle School Choirs enriched the occasion with hymns that inspired all who were present. Their singing reflected the unity of the Trinity community and demonstrated how worship brings people together in Christ. Their ministry through music embodied the Christian values of love, respect and harmony.
A particularly memorable moment came when the Chaplain invited all the children to gather before the altar for a special prayer of blessing. He prayed that they would continue to grow in God’s grace, wisdom and love, committing the younger generation into the Lord’s hands. This touching occasion reminded everyone of the shared responsibility of the Church and the College in nurturing young people in the Christian faith.
Afterwards, those gathered shared a time of fellowship, providing an opportunity for students, teachers, parents, old boys and members of the congregation to strengthen friendships and continue their conversations beyond the worship.
The SCM Sunday Service was a meaningful celebration of worship, unity and fellowship, reaffirming the importance of serving God together as one family in Christ.
The Student Christian Movement extends its sincere gratitude to the Principal, Vice Principal and Co-Vice Principal for their continued encouragement and support in making the event possible. The SCM also thanks the Chaplain for his spiritual guidance, the SCM teachers and committee members for their dedication in organising the occasion, the Junior School and Middle School Choirs for their ministry in song, and every student who served through the Scripture readings, intercessory prayers, offertory, choir and many other responsibilities. The presence and support of parents, old boys and members of the congregation reflected the spirit of fellowship that continues to strengthen the Trinity community.
As we reflect on this blessed occasion, may we continue to nurture the faith of the younger generation and remain steadfast in serving Christ with humility, compassion and love, remembering the words of our Lord:
“Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”
