“Thamizh Arivu Thedal” event held on September 23rd 2023 was a remarkable showcase of talent and cultural exchange which was organised by the Tamil Literary Union of Trinity College in view of its 105th year anniversary celebration. With the participation of 15 schools, it was a vibrant and diverse gathering that celebrated the richness of Tamil culture. The event was organised with great precision and attention to detail, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all attendees . The location provided a suitable setting, allowing participants to immerse themselves in the cultural ambiance.
Throughout the event, various activities and performances took place, exhibiting the talents of the students. From traditional music and drama performances to thought-provoking speeches and poetry recitations, the audience was treated to a captivating display of Tamil heritage. It was a multi-competition event that included activities such as debate, essay writing, speech, drama, and a quiz related to Tamil language. Besides, there were specific events called “Thani Isai” and “Kulu Isai.” related to Tamil music .
The event embodied the rich cultural and linguistic heritage of the Tamil language through these various competitions. Participants had the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge, skills, and creativity in different aspects. The inclusion of debate, essay writing, speech, and drama allowed for a diverse range of talents to be illustrated.
Debate and quiz competitions were the highlights of the event. These showcased the participants’ knowledge, critical thinking skills, and ability to articulate their thoughts effectively. The debate competition, basically provided a platform for participants to engage in intellectual discourse and present well-reasoned arguments on various topics.
Rajawala Hindu College and Ranabima Royal College qualified for the final round in this competition. After an intense battle Rajawala Hindu College became the champions of this contest.
Overall, the incorporation of the engaging and exciting debate competition finals to close the show, added much value to the “Thamizh Arivu Thedal” event, providing an opportunity for participants to demonstrate their abilities and for the audience to witness thought-provoking discussions.
Impressive performances by Baduideen Mahmud College, Rajawala Hindu College, and Girls’ High School made them book their ticket to the final round of the quiz competition, showcasing their knowledge and competitive spirit. The inclusion of multiple schools in the final round added an element of excitement and healthy competition to the event. But an intense performance by Rajawala Hindu College earned them the first spot once again followed by Baduideen Mahmud College and Girls’ High School Kandy. Different students from various other schools exhibited their strong performance in other competitions which was indeed a commendable performance .
In general, the “Thamizh Arivu Thedal” event was a resounding success. It not only celebrated our Tamil Literary Union’s rich history, but also served as a platform to promote and preserve the Tamil language and culture. The event left a lasting impression on attendees, fostering a sense of pride and appreciation for our heritage.

விவாதம், கட்டுரை , பேச்சு,குறுநாடக ஆக்கம்,கவிதை,வினாவிடை,வாத்தியம்,குழு இசை,தனி இசை போன்ற போட்டிகள் ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்டிருந்தன.
பல்வேறு போட்டிகள் மூலம் தமிழ் மொழியின் வளமான கலாசார மற்றும் மொழியியல் பாரம்பரியம் தெட்டத்தெளிவாக எடுத்தியம்ப்பட்டது. பங்கேற்பாளர்கள் தங்கள் அறிவு, திறமைகள் மற்றும் படைப்பாற்றலை வெவ்வேறு பகுதிகளில் நிரூபிக்க இது ஒரு சிறந்த களமாக அமைந்தது. விவாதம், கட்டுரை எழுதுதல், பேச்சு, நாடகம் உள்ளிட்டவை பலதரப்பட்ட திறமைகளை வெளிக்கொணர அனுமதித்தன.

பதுதீன் மஹ்மூத் கல்லூரி, ரஜவல இந்துக் கல்லூரி, பெண்கள் உயர்தரப் பாடசாலை ஆகியன தமது அறிவாற்றலையும் போட்டித் திறனையும் வெளிப்படுத்தும் வினாடி வினாப் போட்டியின் இறுதிச் சுற்றுக்கு முன்னேறின. இறுதிச் சுற்றில் பல பாடசாலைகள் இணைக்கப்பட்டமை நிகழ்வுக்கு உற்சாகத்தையும் ஆரோக்கியமான போட்டியையும் சேர்த்தது. ஆனால் ரஜவல இந்துக் கல்லூரியின் அதீதமான ஆட்டம் அவர்களுக்கு முதலிடத்தைப் பெற்றுத்தந்தது.
பல்வேறு பள்ளிகளைச் சேர்ந்த பல்வேறு மாணவர்கள் மற்ற போட்டிகளில் தங்கள் வலுவான செயல்திறனை வெளிப்படுத்தினர்.
மொத்தத்தில் “தமிழ் அறிவு தேடுதல்” நிகழ்ச்சி அமோகமாக நடை பெற்றது. இது நமது தமிழ் இலக்கியச் மன்றத்தின் செழுமையான வரலாற்றைக் கொண்டாடுவதோடு , தமிழ் மொழியையும் கலாச்சாரத்தையும் மேம்படுத்துவதற்கும் பாதுகாப்பதற்கும் ஒரு சிறந்த வாய்ப்பாக செயல்பட்டது. இந்த நிகழ்வானது, பங்கேற்பாளர்களிடையே சிறந்த உற்சாகத்தை ஏற்படுத்தியது.
