This week we feature the “Holy Cross” done by Grade 1 students using waste materials for the Hand Work Competition held on 2nd of August 2022. It was organized by the Student Christian Movement of the Kindergarten, to commemorate the Chapel Centenary Celebrations. They were given 1 ½ hours to complete the task on their own.
A very special thank you to Mr. Harendra Alwis from Melbourne, Australia for the two Online Presentations on the College Chapel via Microsoft Teams prior to the competition.
After completing this week’s activity, it was enjoyable to hear them talk continuously about the cross they made for the competition.
“I made the cross and will give it to my friend to keep. He said he would keep it where Jesus was worshipped” – Grade 1 student
“The cross is very easy to make. Two sticks were placed on each other and fixed. I practiced at home” – Grade 1 student
Our sincere thanks to the Kindergarten Co-Ordinator of the Student Christian Movement Mrs. H.J. Mulleriyawa & the Faculty Head Miss, B.H.M.D.R. Bulathsinhala for organizing this event.
Thank you to all of you who have joined with us throughout the year. Wishing everyone a Happy Christmas and a Happy New Year!
