This is an important occasion for the parents of every new batch of grade 1 students.
At the first open day of the year the parents are treated to an address by a prestigious old boy, invited by the school to speak on a specific topic which aims to help parents begin their journey through Trinity with their children.
This year was no different, on 6th March at the Junior School Hall, Dr Heshan Jayaweera, a consultant paediatrician at the Peradeniya Teaching Hospital, gave a talk on the topic of “The Role of a Trinity Parent.”
His speech was followed by a Q&A session with the audience and an address by the PTA Secretary Dr Asitha Bandaranayake. The grade 1 representatives of the PTA were also elected during this session, followed by the parent – teacher meeting.
The event was attended by the Principal, Co-Vice Principal and the Chaplain representing the College Administration, all of whom addressed the audience during the meeting. Dr Jayaweera’s speech was warmly received, with many parents looking forward to another address by him.
The event most certainly achieved its goal of helping the parents of grade 1 to begin their journey through College. We wish them and their sons all the very best for the years to come!
