There have been some enquiries with regard to the temporary roofs resting on GI pipes on the external balconies of the Main Hall.
The Hall is 73 years old now and the floors of those balconies are in a very bad state, with water dripping into the rooms below. Previous attempts to rectify this defect by adding layers of concrete have not been successful. Laying any more concrete is not feasible as the slabs cannot take the weight.
Expert advice has been sought and these temporary roofs have been installed pending remedial action to prevent any more water damage to the rooms below and the main structure itself.
We will be updating this post with details of scheduled work and a completion date.
