This year, Junior school and the Kindergarten together celebrated the Children’s Day with a difference.
All students were asked to come to school on 1st October 2019 wearing their College t-shirts. The day started with an unforgettable magic show conducted by Mr Manjula Silva, a prominent magician. The show was very entertaining and educative. Both students and the teachers were amazed and amused.
The Junior School Headmaster, Mr A. Marasinghe visited all the classes to give away gifts. The College also made arrangements to give cupcakes to all the students. They all appreciated the treat and were excited to talk about the ‘awesome magic show’ with Mr Marasinghe.
Students of grade one, after sharing the food with the other classes, went out for a walk around the school premises. It was a relaxed day for them, away from any books. Grade two boys also enjoyed class parties and made hand crafts.
The grade 3, 4 and 5 students had their share of fun afterwards, with class parties and handwork. Teachers of grade 3 got on to the stage and entertained the students with drama and dance. Grade 4 and 5 students prepared snacks in the classes and made some noise singing.
The day concluded with students going home early with the lasting impression of being loved and cared for.
