Our debaters have shown vistas of excellence, skill, and eloquence, and they have earned well-earned accolades. Mast. Thesath Keppetiyagama and Mast. Sanchitha Wickrama has been chosen to represent Sri Lanka’s National Pool of Debaters 2025, and we are quite proud of their exceptional accomplishments. This reflects their hard work, dedication and effort to ensure Trinity College remains a formidable force in debating.
Being chosen for the National Pool is not an easy task. The National Pool is chosen by the Debaters’ Council of Sri Lanka, which oversees World Schools Debating in the country and features the best debaters from across the country. This year, the pool comprises 18 of the top debaters in the nation, from which the National Team and Development Squad will be formed to represent Sri Lanka on international stages throughout 2025.
Special gratitude should also be extended to our teacher in charge, Mrs. Fathima Majeed, whose tireless efforts and guidance ensured our debaters could excel at multiple tournaments throughout the year. We must also thank our dedicated coach, Mr. Suchith Tissera, whose unwavering support and expertise were pivotal to this success.
As we celebrate this achievement, we congratulate Mast. Thesath Keppetiyagama and Mast. Sanchith Wickrama and wish them the best of luck for their future endeavors, knowing that they will make their alma mater and country proud.
