The 23rd of December 2024 featured several well- informed students of Trinity College, Kandy, entering the premises of SLIIT University, Kandy.
Initially, they were given the opportunity to participate in the preliminary exam of the Brain Busters Quiz Competition from 10:45 to 11:15 a.m. The quiz featured a range of topics, that included International Affairs, Literature, History, Geography, Science, and Politics.
This was followed by an insightful lecture and demonstration on education in generative Artificial Intelligence by Dr. Kamalanath Samarakon, a senior lecturer at the Department of Computer Engineering at the University of Peradeniya. His session provided an awareness on how the technical side of the system works.
By the end of a productive day at the picturesque university, students were given an excellent opportunity to tour the facilities and features of SLIIT University, including the library, classrooms, and dormitories.
We must thank the supportive staff at SLIIT University for providing this great unique opportunity, as general knowledge is a valuable component of education. We also extend our gratitude to the Teacher-In-Charge of the Young Inventors’ and Researchers’ Club, Mrs. Rasika Herath, for accompanying and guiding the students.
Undoubtedly, the students who took part in this event received a remarkable opportunity to become more innovative and inquisitive in their approach to receiving and deducing information.
