The Oriental Music Society recently held their “Kiribath Ceremony” on 18th March 2019 at the Oriental Music room.
The students first welcomed all the staff by paying their respects in the traditional manner.
The ceremony commenced with a prayer read by Mr Upul Edirisinghe, the master-in-charge of the society, and this was followed by lighting the oil lamp by the staff members and some of the students.
The secretary of the society then introduced the newly appointed committee for the year 2019, and Mrs Seetha Dissanayake spoke few words about the Oriental Music Society and the traditional kiribath ceremony, and thanked the society and it’s members for organising the event.
Afterwards, everyone present was invited to enjoy a variety of delicious foods.
